ASL Teacher Certification Program

The Teacher Certification Program for College Graduates (TCPCG) in ASL education is offered through the Neag School of Education and is available at four regional campuses: Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, and Waterbury. Candidates who complete the program earn a Connecticut Teacher Certification and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. This 10-month program is offered through three consecutive semesters: summer (mid-June start), fall, and spring. To qualify for this program, candidates must satisfy a score of 170 (equivalent to 3+) or higher on the ASL Proficiency Interview (#0634). For more information, please review the details below or contact Michele Back, World Language Education, Neag School of Education at michele.back@uconn.edu or Linda Pelletier, ASL Studies Coordinator and Advisor at linda.pelletier@uconn.edu.
