The Teacher Certification Program for College Graduates (TCPCG) is offered through the Neag School of Education and is available at three regional campuses: Avery Point, Greater Hartford, and Waterbury. This is an 11-month, full-time program available to candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field. Candidates who complete the program earn a Connecticut Teacher Certification and a MA in Education. The program involves 4 consecutive semesters of coursework: Summer Session I, Summer Session II, Fall Semester, & Spring Semester.
To qualify for this program, non-native signers must have an undergraduate degree related to ASL. Recent state regulation changes now allow native or Deaf signers to hold a bachelor’s degree in any field.
